Putini evanghelici din Londra/UK stiu de Premier Christian Radio – Where Faith Comes To Life.
Dincolo de cererile parca prea insistente pentru finantare, unii prezentatori mai ciudatei(o pun pe seama britanicitatii) si permanenta nevoie de discernamant spiritual(ca in toate), statia asta este o binecuvantare.
Importa din State programe unul si unul. Din Slough pana in Londra unde lucrez, am semnal chiar bunicel. Nu atat de clar precum Magic ori BBC insa e ok. Dimineata in drum spre job il ascult pe David Jeremiah, C. Swindoll. Seara il prind uneori pe John MacArthur, J. Vernon McGee etc. In timpul zilei, Focus on the Family si diferitele emisiuni tematice imi sunt atat de pretioase.
Sunt extraordinare dozele de incurajare, mustrare, incursiune in evenimentele zilei prin filtrul crestin.
Si nu, nu sunt platit sa le fac reclama.

If-this-happens-you-knoe-your-driving-to-fastI’ve had the AA Drive Tech, National Speed Awareness course today. An alternative to the Fixed Penalty fine and penalty points I received last Christmas. If you have not previously attended a course within a 3 year period, you will be offered this one. And it helps. It really helps. It wasn’t as boring as I though. Quite decent.

Some of the things I’ve learned:

More paint, more restraint. More red, more dead. (about the paint you often see on the roads)

Speed limit is a limit not a target.

We used to drive on the left. We now drive on what’s left… 🙂

Aggressive drivers tailgating and flashing you on the motorway tend to be very annoying. A study was done and it revealed that these people usually are not satisfied with their life, their job, family and tend to use their car to bully others in traffic.

Don’t react. Control yourself. Be careful. You never know what “animal” is driving the other car.

When you are inside the car you feel that you are becoming anonymous. You loose your control and you do and say weird things that don’t represent you.

If you’re sleepy, of course you need to stop and rest, but if you can’t do it, chewing a gum or making verbal commentaries about the road, traffic or weather helps to keep you focused and concentrated.

Today I was sent to a new job(Craven Hill Gardens, Bayswater) to cover someone. It used to be an old hotel.  Apparently even Michael Jackson stayed here, one guy told me..:) But now they are building some flats. Several millions each.

Ian, my HTC supervisor said that I should be prepared. „It’s not a Wolff crane..and the cab it’s quite small!”, he shared, laughing.:)

I’ve been on small tower cranes before but this one is exceedingly small. An Italian tower crane. Came on with the package when HTC bought Kier. Old school. Carlo Raimondi. I wasn’t aware that the Italians have a tower crane industry. But they have and obviously it’s not the best.

The banksman started to smile when he took me to see it. I barely fitted, climbing the tower sections carrying my backpack. The seat will fold down so you can get in and out from the cab. And it’s not so comfortable. One hour and I already have a back pain, not to mention the pain in different areas of my body. Except these things, it runs ok. The new ones might be better. I’m grateful that this it’s just a one day job. 🙂
